Vineyards, golf and time to slow down. Follow the journey below, then open each day to explore every moment in more detail.
Your French escape begins here
Leave the main roads behind, watch the scenery soften and settle into your château home for the next five nights.
Bergerac, diversity & creativity
A full day with Vincent and Susan to understand, meet and taste the many faces of the Bergerac wine region.
Your first day of golf
The fairways are only steps from your room: play 9, 18 or 27 holes and shape the day entirely around your own pace.
Saint-Émilion, great wines & history
After Bergerac’s intimate estates, discover another side of French wine: prestige, heritage and landscapes known around the world.
One last day on the fairways
You now know the estate: replay your favourite course, try another combination or take your revenge on the holes that challenged you.
One last morning to slow down
Enjoy a little more of the estate before leaving with memories of two wine regions and two days of golf enjoyed in complete freedom.
Day 1 — Your French escape begins here
Arriving in Southwest France
Country lanes wind through vineyards, woodland and traditional villages before leading to your hotel. Set within a 16th-century château, the estate becomes your peaceful retreat where heritage, nature, wine and golf come together.
Settle in and explore
Make yourself comfortable and allow the pace to slow. Watch the fairways unfold between woodland and lakes, relax on the terrace or simply enjoy the feeling of having arrived.
Dinner at the bistro
For your first evening, settle into the welcoming atmosphere of the estate’s bistro. The menu draws inspiration from the produce and flavours of Southwest France.
Day 2 — Bergerac, diversity & creativity
Breakfast in the château
Begin the day in the elegant dining room of the Michelin-starred restaurant with pastries made on site, artisan preserves, honey harvested on the estate, local produce and homemade specialities.
Meet Vincent and Susan
Your English guides meet you for a day devoted to wine and the relaxed way of life of Southwest France. Visits, transport and lunch are arranged; all you need to do is discover, taste and enjoy.
Your first steps among the vines
Discover how soil, climate and the work of the winemaker shape the character of each wine. No technical lecture — just the pleasure of understanding what you will later taste in your glass.
Three appellations, three expressions
Rosette, Pécharmant and Monbazillac reveal delicate whites, deeper reds and celebrated sweet wines. Around twelve wines are offered throughout the day.
Inside the cellars
Discover the main stages of winemaking, the decisions made by each producer and the influence of time, vessels and working methods. Vincent and Susan translate and make conversations effortless.
Lunch overlooking the vines
A picnic of local produce is served in a setting chosen for its vineyard views. Charcuterie, cheeses and regional specialities create a relaxed and generous moment.
New estates, new stories
Further properties and new encounters show how every estate has its own history, style, traditions and convictions.
Back to tranquillity & dinner
Return to the estate for your room, terrace or pool. Spa access, treatments and other activities are available at an extra charge, before dinner at the bistro.
Day 3 — Your first day of golf
A gentle start
After a peaceful night, enjoy breakfast before making your way to the courses. No transport is required.
Three courses, three personalities
Three distinct nine-hole loops offer different atmospheres and challenges, with woodland, lakes, natural contours and open countryside views.
Play without watching the clock
Your unlimited green fee lets you play 9, 18 or 27 holes, extend your round or take a break before heading out again.
A break between rounds
Relax, have lunch on the estate or simply enjoy the surroundings. The rhythm of the day is entirely yours.
After golf
Return to your room, unwind by the pool or enjoy a drink on the terrace. Treatments, spa access, buggy hire and other non-included services remain available at an extra charge.
Dinner at the bistro
Return to your table and enjoy a relaxed evening after your first day on the courses.
Day 4 — Saint-Émilion, great wines & history
Breakfast before departure
Enjoy breakfast before setting off for one of the world’s most celebrated wine villages.
Through Bordeaux wine country
Saint-Émilion reveals prestigious properties, vineyard landscapes and centuries of history. The journey itself becomes part of the experience.
Visit to a Grand Cru estate
Discover the diversity of the soils, principal grape varieties and the methods used to create wines sought after around the world.
Tasting at the estate
Observe the colours, discover the aromas and compare the wines without complicated vocabulary or rigid rules. What matters is discovering what you enjoy.
Lunch in the village
A table is reserved at a carefully selected restaurant. You choose and pay for your meal directly; the reservation and organisation are handled for you.
Heritage & freedom
Explore historic streets, monuments, viewpoints and the monolithic church, then enjoy free time to wander, visit a wine merchant or stop for coffee on a terrace.
Return to the countryside
In the late afternoon, leave the lively village behind and return to the peace of your hotel.
Dinner at the bistro
Return to the welcoming atmosphere of the bistro and extend a day devoted to great wines and heritage.
Day 5 — One last day on the fairways
Begin the day at your pace
Enjoy breakfast before returning to the courses for a second day of unlimited golf.
Rediscover the 27 holes
The light, playing conditions and your choice of course give this second day a completely different atmosphere.
Golf exactly as you like it
There is no obligation to play all day. Continue from one course to the next, take a long break or enjoy the pool. The real luxury lies in choosing your own pace.
One last moment on the estate
After your round, allow yourself a few final hours to enjoy the setting: terrace, pool or a quiet moment in your room.
Your final dinner
For your last evening, return to the bistro and take time to celebrate an escape shaped by wine and fairways.
Day 6 — One last morning to slow down
One last breakfast
Enjoy breakfast and the peaceful atmosphere of the château one last time.
A few more hours
Depending on your departure time, walk through the grounds, look over the courses once more or relax on the terrace.
Departure
Leave with memories of two very different wine regions, encounters with producers and two days of golf enjoyed in complete freedom.
Or stay a little longer
Your experience can be extended with one or more additional days.
Wine is always better when someone brings the story to life.
Vincent and Susan will accompany you through the vineyards of Bergerac and Saint-Émilion.
English, passionate about Southwest France and its wines, they make each visit relaxed, personal and easy to understand.
They are there to introduce you to the producers, translate when needed, explain what you are tasting and answer your questions — without turning the day into a wine lesson.
No jargon.
Wine explained simply and naturally.
No driving.
Your transport is organised during the guided days.
No rushing.
Time for conversations, questions and discoveries.
A château to come back to every evening.
Throughout your stay, Château des Vigiers becomes your home in the French countryside: a peaceful 16th-century château surrounded by vineyards, woodland and fairways.
Between days of discovery, there is no need to change hotels or keep packing your bags. Come back to your room, enjoy the swimming pool, have a drink on the terrace and settle in for dinner at the bistro.
Two restaurants, two different ways to experience the flavours of Southwest France.
Les Fresques
The Michelin-starred restaurant of Château des Vigiers offers a more refined expression of the region, where local produce, creativity and seasonality come together.
It is not included in the standard French Wine & Golf Escape, but a dinner at Les Fresques can be added to your stay for an even more special evening.
Le Bistrot
A more relaxed and welcoming atmosphere, inspired by the generous flavours and produce of Southwest France.
Your five dinners included in the stay are served here.
Twenty-seven holes, directly outside your hotel.
Château des Vigiers offers three different nine-hole courses, allowing you to create different combinations and discover the estate at your own pace.
Woodland, lakes, natural contours and open countryside create changing atmospheres from one course to another.
Your Wine & Golf Escape includes two days of unlimited golf for two guests. Buggy and equipment hire can be arranged separately.
A place to slow down between two days of discovery.
The wellness facilities offer another way to enjoy the estate, whether you want to recover after golf or simply spend a few quiet hours doing very little.
Spa access, treatments and massages are available as additional experiences and can be organised during your free time.
The luxury here is also the space around you.
Château des Vigiers lies within a 150-hectare country estate in Southwest France, surrounded by woodland, lakes, open landscapes and golf courses.
It is a place where mornings can begin quietly, afternoons can stretch a little longer and returning from a day in the vineyards feels like coming back to a retreat rather than simply returning to a hotel.
Terrace, gardens, pool and countryside all become part of the stay.
